• VPF WRITER GETS MICKEY ROURKE FILM PRODUCED!

VPF client John Saunders' film "Hunt Club" was just released! John pitched the script to VPF Pro Jessica Mathis who said "yes" and requested the script.

"I use VPF as the easiest and best way to meet new talented writers and find the right content for our company Titan Global Entertainment to produce," Jessica said.

"I received a pitch from a VPF writer named John Saunders for a script about a group of women who are unsuspectedly captured and released onto an island for an elite power group as the ultimate hunt trophy...until they pick the wrong girl who fights back."

"We immediately liked the script and started communicating with John about it. Soon after, we signed an option agreement, and then went through some revisions of the script until it got made into the film 'Hunt Club' starring Mickey Rourke, Mena Suvari, and Casper Van Dien."

"If it wasn't for VPF, we would have never known about the project!"

  • VPF WRITER SELLS SCRIPTS!

VPF writer Piper Ozmer just sold two scripts while landing lit rep Chrisina DeRosa through VPF.

“I met Christina through VPF. Not only did she option my faith-based script THE GOOD BOOK, she also gave feedback to refine my writing and advocated for me within the industry. Since then, I’m excited to say THE GOOD BOOK has been sold! With Christina as my literary manager, I sold another romantic comedy script and have several other projects in the works. Every aspiring screenwriter hopes for someone in the industry to take a chance on them, and I am grateful to have gotten that chance thanks to VPF. Thank you for everything you do for writers!”

“I started working with Virtual Pitch back in 2020," said DeRosa.  I discovered a writer on there who pitched me a Hallmark style Rom-Com.  At the time, it wasn’t exactly a fit for my needs, but I knew immediately this writer was going places, could easily take direction, and believed, like me, writing is re-writing, so we started working together on pitches and concepts for me to pitch to Hallmark, Lifetime and other networks…

"Together, we refined and refined a concept that later, after over twenty drafts, turned into a heartfelt story that is so close to both of our hearts.  Recognizing her exceptional talent, I offered for her to join Kingvigor as a writing client. Soon after, I successfully optioned her script and secured a deal...

"This experience reinforced the notion that when you encounter exceptional talent, the best course of action is to embrace it and nurture it. Our journey is a testament to the growth and success that can be achieved when gifted artists come together.”

  • VPF WRITER STRIKES DEAL

VPF client Benjamin Gentile just optioned his script "One for the Books" to VPF participant Treasure Hunter Films!

"After trying a few different kinds of loglines and pitches I found the right ones that communicated just enough to make a producer interested and wanting to hear more. I came across Jonny Stewart from Treasure Hunter Films on VPF who was looking for just my kind of action/thriller," said Gentile. "Seventeen hours after I sent Stewart the script he wanted to talk option agreements. To be clear, I only know that length of time because g-mail lets me know when the emails come in - I wasn’t looking at my watch like a psycho - but I digress.

"I am guessing seeing a script of yours on IMDb with the words “in development” next to it will never get old. I am so glad I found the right producer at the right time on VPF to make "One for the Books" happen!"

    Congrats Benjamin!

  • VPF WRITERS SIGN DEAL

VPF client Lise Pyles and her writing partner signed a deal with UK-Based Prodco 808010 Productions for her script "A Bodyguard for Christmas."  Says Lisa: "I connected with Suzanne Garnett of 808010 Productions in the UK through a VPF query...We hope to have continued success with our work and VPF. Thank you!"

  • VPF WRITER SIGNS SCRIPT DEAL

VPF screenwriter Steve Smith just signed a shopping agreement for his Thriller script “Under Pressure” with VPF participating producer Grady Justice of Buffalo 8.

Grady’s credits include “Coyote Lake,” “Givers of Death” and the upcoming “American Cherry.” Grady said "yes" to Steve's VPF pitch and decided to go forward after reading the screenplay.

Steve has won dozens of accolades for his scripts since 2021, including “Best Screenplay” awards in two competitions.

  • VPF WRITER's FILM RELEASED

VPF writer Andy Greskoviak’s horror film “Black Friday” – pitched via VPF – has just been released! Andy pitched the script to Aware Wolf's Casey Tebo, who directed.

“Andy sent me the script through VPF, and I was immediately hooked,” said Casey. Produced by Warner Davis and starring Bruce Campbell, Michal Jai White & Devon Sawa, “Black Friday” tells the story of a group of disgruntled toy store employees who must defend themselves from legions of holiday shoppers when an alien parasite sends them on a murderous rampage.

“I sent the pitch to Casey through VPF,” Andy said, “and by that evening, we were texting and emailing ideas as to how we could bring this story to life. Because of VPF, ‘Black Friday’ went from being a pipe dream to being a reality – one where I was meeting professionals who wanted to bring this to life – in a matter of hours.”

“I mean it’s surreal," Andy said about his script-to-screen experience, "Especially since we had so many talented people working on this movie. So everything came to life in either ways I’d always pictured it or in ways I could’ve never imagined. Like the first time I walked into We Luv Toys (our fictional toy store) and saw it fully dressed with toys on the shelves, I was in awe. I think my fiancé cried. Or like one time I heard people discussing a character I’d written. Like two actors were like ‘Wouldn’t Marnie do blank? And I had to be like Hey! I know Marnie! I made her up! It’s such a weird feeling.”

  • MEL GIBSON FILM SOLD BY VPF WRITERS!

VPF writers Leonard Langford & Collin Watts' script "Hot Seat," starring Mel Gibson, Kevin Dillon & Sam Asghari, is now filming. Emmett/Furla Oasis is producing.

In 2019 Langford pitched another of his scripts to VPF Pro Tim Sullivan (at the time with  EFO), as well as to Bennatar/Thomas Productions. That screenplay was soon picked up by Bennatar/Thomas, and when Sullivan asked Langford if he had another project, he sent him "Hot Seat," which he co-wrote with Watts.

"Thank you VPF! EFO loved 'Hot Seat' and two years later it's in production this month in New Mexico," said Langford. "Even though my writing partner and I, had what we believed was an excellent script, it was difficult to put it in the right hands. VPF cut out the middle men and helped us deliver the script to the right people to get this made. We'll certainly continue using VPF because it provides us direct access to the people who can turn your scripts into major releases."

"I love the site's ease of use," he continued. "VPF makes it really easy to narrow your search, which gives you a larger chance of scoring a sale." Watts agreed, stating "VPF's been a blessing for us. It helped get our foot in the door!"

  • BRUCE WILLIS/MEGAN FOX FILM PITCHED VIA VPF!

VPF client Alan Horsnail's script "Midnight in the Switchgrass" – starring Bruce Willis, Emile Hirsch & Megan Fox – was released by Lionsgate.

Alan pitched the script to Emmet Furla/Oasis Films' Tim Sullivan in 2019. Tim stated that "after reading Alan Horsnail’s pitch for 'Midnight in the Switchgrass' on VPF I was very intrigued and immediately requested the script."

Tim went on to explain that after reading the project "the company collectively decided that it would make a great addition" to their slate. "Alan’s script contained both a storyline that immediately hooked the reader and fascinating dialogue. Given that it was strong both commercially and artistically, we knew that the film would be valuable in the marketplace."

After EFO optioned the script, and Randall Emmett decided to direct it, the company held a table read. "Emile Hirsch is a friend of Randall’s and read at the table read as a favor, but then expressed interest in starring in the film. After some negotiations he was attached. We brought on Sheila Jaffe as casting director who helped source the remaining actors, aside from Bruce Willis who we have a long standing relationship with."

Before "Midnight," Alan had a successful career in the software business, but the call of screenwriting was too strong to resist. Without many connections in the business, he turned to VPF. “One of the biggest challenges an emerging writer has is to force people to read their stuff. That’s part of the genius of VPF, that nobody else does, is forcing people to get back to you. That’s all writers want.”

Thanks to Lee Jessop for breaking the story, which can be found at:

Mark David ("Texas Heart") will be directing and Hollywood Media Bridge came in for financing and distribution. "I found Mark Keavney's Sci-Fi Thriller, 'Dark Roots' on VPF after requesting the script off its compelling logline and read it in one sitting," said Smith "It is a highly relatable, cautionary tale about a troubled young man raised in foster car who takes a 23 & Me DNA test that amazingly identifies his long-lost father. Together with his pregnant fiance, he visits his father's isolated estate where they unearth a disturbing family history that threatens their sanity and their lives. It's a remarkable re-telling of 'Oedipus Rex', with the claustrophobic tone of 'Ex Machina' and the horror feel of 'Get Out.'  And it has a twist and the end that you DO NOT SEE COMING."
